Sadaqatul Fitr (also known as Zakatul Fitr or Fitrana) is an obligatory charity that must be given before the Eid prayer.
It purifies the fast and ensures that those in need can celebrate Eid with dignity.
“The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم made Sadaqatul Fitr obligatory as a purification for the fasting person from idle talk and indecent behaviour and as food for the poor.”
